2017 Scottish local elections – United Kingdom

Summary

The 2017 Scottish local elections were held on May 4, 2017 . They were part of the wider local elections across the United Kingdom . The Conservatives gained a massive victory in the elections , while Labour and UKIP were wiped out . The Scottish Conservative candidate had previously called Nicola Sturgeon a "drooling hag" . The Welsh results were also declared and the next full council elections in Swansea will take place in May 2022 . The Labour party maintained control of the Swansea council .
